Actions for climate governance in Argentina

  • Accelerating the transition to electric mobility in Latin America in Argentina, Colombia and Panama.
  • Adaptation in Andean montane ecosystems.
  • Support to dialogue among climate change negotiators on agricultural matters of Latin America.
  • Formulation of a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Reduction Plan in the livestock production sector of Salta province.
  • Support to decision-makers and legislators in the Latin American countries.
  • Monitoring and progress made on the implementation of the NDC.
  • Support to the dialogue among head climate change negotiators for Latin America and the Caribbean.
  • Support for the strengthening of the system for monitoring the progress of the National Action Plan on Climate Change 2017-2022 (PANCC 2017-2022), as this is the articulated instrument of the Chilean Government's public policy on climate change.
  • Strengthening of monitoring and evaluation systems for climate policies (mitigation and adaptation) under the Transparency Framework of the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda (regional action in the 18 partner countries of EUROCLIMA+).
  • Experience and knowledge exchanges that are technical and political in scope, for effective implementation of the AdP. In particular for the design and implementation of NDCs that are fair and ambitious, in the context of the long-term objectives of the AdP and the recommendations of science (experiences shared between Chile and Spain).
  • Strengthening of monitoring and evaluation systems for climate policies (mitigation and adaptation) under the Transparency Framework of the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda.
  • Working group on the harmonisation of adaptation metrics.
  • Regional collaboration on transparency and compliance with nationally determined contributions and capacity building for long-term climate strategies
  • Support to the Regional Training Workshop on Climate Legislation.
  • Training on the use of the computer tool “Long-term Energy Planning System – LEAP” and its application for the planning and analysis of NDC-type policies (exchange between Ecuador and Argentina).
  • Dialogue among peers to strengthen NDC implementation in Latin America.
  • Development of a Community of Practice on the involvement of the private sector in climate policy processes in Latin America.
  • Training on vertical coordination for implementation of the NDCs.
  • Training on methodological tools for the implementation of climate change projects.
  • Methodological reflection on the assignment and review of the NDCs and the Dialogue among peers to promote the implementation of NDCs in Latin America.
