Title: Promotion and development of urban cycling, Costa Rica (Pilot Project)

Location: Montes de Oca, Costa Rica

Brief description: The objective of this project is to create better mobility and accessibility conditions for urban cyclists through the development of participatory instructional processes, and the generation of a data collection and systematisation process with cyclist communities in the study area.

Main expected results: 

  • Improve mobility between Curridabat and Montes de Oca through the new cycle route.
  • Encourage the use of technological tools that report on the origin and destination of routes, schedules, conditions and frequency of user trips.

Main products: 

  • Create infrastructure, signage, and regulations needed for the new cycle route.
  • Implement a cycle routes guide in other contexts, based on the experience acquired.
