Objective 

To emphasise the vital importance of forests and rights of ethnic groups and communities to increase ambition and ensure compliance with NDCs, from the perspective of diverse actors in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.

Presentation

The visions of different actors will be addressed, regarding the role of forests in increasing ambition for the NDCs, which should be complementary and synergistic in countries whose AFOLU sector is the main emitter of GHG and their greatest opportunity for the climate crisis, having respect for the rights and governance of indigenous and local communities as a tool with the greatest social, environmental, cultural and sustainable impact.
