Head of Communication TCO Costa Rica, Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID)

Objective

Promote dialogue and discussion among experts from the countries on the relationship between climate, energy efficiency and infrastructure, providing solutions, instruments and alternatives from different interventions and approaches.

Presentation

Few countries in the Region have the methodology or resources to prepare a detailed energy balance to determine useful energy consumption. Despite this deficiency, all the countries promote rational and efficient energy use policies that contribute to global climate change mitigation initiatives.

On the other hand, energy generation and transport infrastructures face risks derived from climate change, determining the changes that must be implemented in the planning and operation of the systems.

In this context, based on the experience and scope of the EUROCLIMA+ project on useful energy balances as an instrument for energy efficiency and the ARAUCLIMA project where the vulnerability of energy infrastructures will be analysed, a dialogue between experts from the countries is proposed.
