The Swisscontact Foundation contributes to the fight against COVID-19 to producers of Tarwi, in the communities of Anzaldo and Acasio

COVID-19 constitutes a threat to the health of farmers, even more so when health services in rural areas are precarious, showing high vulnerability and putting at risk not only their health, but also agricultural production.

Central America, October 28, 2020, In this context, the Swisscontact Foundation, under the framework of the project "Resilient Production, Marketing and Consumption of Cañahua and Tarwi" funded by EUROCLIMA+ of the European Union, in the community of Mollini in the municipality of Anzaldo, has delivered biosafety materials consisting of face masks, gel soap and alcohol, benefiting 165 families.

The delivery of biosafety materials was made in the presence of municipal authorities and leaders of the communities involved in the project. This activity will be extended to the municipality of Acasio to benefit another 335 families.
