Expertise France and CATIE advise six countries to improve their chances of securing climate financing in the agri-food sector

16 July, several countries - Teams from national entities and development agencies in Bolivia, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Honduras and Panama

receive advisory and coaching services for the development of concept notes seeking climate financing for the agri-food sector. The programme has been implemented by the EUROCLIMA+ Programme in the agri-food sector with support from Expertise France and the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Centre (CATIE) for a period of five months.

The overall objective of this service is to accompany the development of concept notes that the national authorities of the six countries will be able to submit to the Green Climate Fund or the Global Environment Facility, taking advantage of the CoP26 Climate Summit in Glasgow, UK, next November for their presentation.

This coaching service is taking advantage of the concept notes presented by different members of the national teams that participated in the Diploma on Climate Finance carried out by the EUROCLIMA+ Programme at the end of last year, also with the support of Expertise France and CATIE. The first impact of this Diploma was that Mexico was able to finalise its concept note based on the draft prepared for the Diploma and submitted to the Green Climate Fund.

The coaching service process involves four phases:
