Peru and Bolivia: drought risk reduction

Title: Information, governance and action for the reduction of drought risk in Peru and Bolivia in a climate change context.

Brief description: The objective of the project is to increase capacity in public entities, social actors and populations of the Bolivian Peruvian Altiplano for prevention, preparation and response to climate change.

Expected results: 

  • Strengthen national and sub-national capacities for the implementation of climate services for drought risk management, in the context of climate change and variability in Bolivia and Peru, based on dialogues between National Hydrometeorological Services and users linked to the agricultural sector.
  •  Strengthen governance mechanisms for drought risk management in Peru and Bolivia.
  •  Prioritise drought risk management experiences in territories (basins or micro-basins),and strengthen them in Peru and Bolivia.
