Launching of the workshop Management and disaster risk reduction
Place: Cartagena de Indias, Colombia
Date: From February 19 to 21.
Under the “Disaster Risk Reduction and Management” component of the EUROCLIMA+ programme, a workshop will be held to launch seven projects to promote integrated disaster risk management, reduce the vulnerability of populations and their livelihoods, as well as climate change adaptation measures in Latin American countries. In addition, monitoring, forecasting and early warning systems for droughts and floods will be strengthened, ensuring their use in the governance of the institutions.
The workshop, which will take place in the AECID Training Centre of Cartagena de Indias, is aimed at representatives of each of the approved projects that will be financed with European funds under the “Disaster risk reduction and management” component framework, as well as National Focal Points, representatives of the European Union delegations in the countries included in the programme, as well as the technical teams from AECID (Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation) and AFD (French Development Agency).
The objective of the workshop is to establish a basis for coordination and exchange among the participants who facilitate the development of synergies and coherent project execution.
